Singapore’s Lush 99.5FM is raising money for its adopted charity for 2014 – Autism Association (Singapore) (AAS), with an art event. Titled ‘#Lushloveslocal Art X Music’, 8 artists were invited to each contribute art that is inspired by a locally produced song.
“I’ve chosen “I.A.M.” by Octover as it represents a future devoid of true raw human emotion where we have become so integrated with our machines that we have already started to lose ourselves in the quest for technological advance. Whenever I hear this tune, it also transports me to a smoky intergalactic subterranean lounge where beings from other worlds and dimensions gather to relax. No words are exchanged in these places, only thoughts. For this very personal piece, I’ve created an image using photography as my medium and had my final image printed on raw linen. The panels were then individually wrapped over 16 vinyls from my own personal archives that dates back to the first time I’ve met Jason Tan in 1993.”
